February 26, 2023

Orangetown is located in Rockland County and is bordered by New Jersey, New York City, and the Hudson River. First settled in 1680, Orangetown was established on a tract of land purchased from the Tappan Indians and today offers buyers a variety of options, such as the bucolic, homes with acreage, or quaint properties in town.

Its residents enjoy close proximity to New York City and all its employment opportunities as well as access to shopping and retail outlets that charge no sales tax on apparel just over the border in New Jersey. Families can visit state parks, such as Blauvelt State Park with its trails for hiking and panoramic views. Golfers can play at Manhattan Woods golf club with its private status or the Blue Hill Golf Course.

The median income is $95,221, and the median age of an Orangetown resident is just 41.9 years. 50% of people living in this area have achieved at least a bachelor’s degree. 70% of the population own their own home.
