Mount Pleasant is located 30 miles north of New York City and is a placid retreat away from the Big Apple. It has all the benefits from being close to the cultural hub without the downsides that often plague the people who lives there – noise, traffic jams, exorbitant living costs, and cramped living.
It is situated in central Westchester County and it south of the New Castle and Ossining. To the south is the Town of Greenburgh, and on its western front is the Hudson River. It is home to several villages, and these include Pleasantville and Sleepy Hollow, and it encapsulates the hamlets of Hawthorne, Pocantico Hills, Valhalla, and Thornwood.

People in Mount Pleasant enjoy the scenery and the lush rolling hills. There is plenty to do outdoors, as the town boasts several local, county and state parks, including protected watershed areas. The Pocantico River provides a relaxing spot for people to relax before it empties into the Hudson River. The Kensico Reservoir is actually the largest waterway in the Mount Pleasant, and this forms a part of the town’s eastern boundary.

The 2016 census listed a total of 44,556 residents, and these are comprised of 13,737 households with 10,522 families. The average square mile contains 1,560 people with 505 houses in that same area. The median income is $103,657 for a household and $129,077 for a family. Just 4.9% of the area’s population lives under the poverty line.
